Me and my friend has ben given a grouping task by our “BOSS” to do some critique about short animation or TV advertisement.So it is prefer that this grouping assignment do in our own major coursemate.But I would like to collaborate with other major coursemate which is in BD in Animation. So, I decided with my friend who is in BD advertising to form a group of four with two of our friends from BD animation.Than we decided to choose short animation combined with ad type which is called animated advertisement.
The choosen animated advertisement for this aesthetic evaluation is Fanta “Chase”Commercial, New 2011.One of the criterion has been set base on Subjectivism,i.e.
a)Audience(AUDIENCE) should be able to enjoy(BEHAVIOR) after finish watching the animation from the beginning to the end(DEGREE) during leisure time(CONDITION).
b)Audience(AUDIENCE) will be cheer(BEHAVIOR) out loud(DEGREE) immediately(CONDITION).
c)Audience(AUDIENCE) will be stunt(BEHAVIOR) until the end of the animation(DEGREE) for along time(CONDITION).
d)Audience(AUDIENCE) will be loaded(DEGREE) with full curiosity(BEHAVIOR) in the end of the animation(CONDITION).
I would to clarify my first criterion regarding these video is,audience should be able to enjoy after finish watching the animation from the beginning to the end during leisure time.After I watch these video,the feel kind of enjoyed already appeard when I watch the half of the video.the excitement started when the ‘SKATER BOY’ to avoid two person on the Segway trying to take Fanta soft drink from “SKATER BOY” hand.But I kind of enjoyed when the all charactered who trying to chase the “SKATER BOY” feel disappointed after they knew the Fanta soft drint was finished.And here we go the twisted of story,the “SKATER BOY” have an extra soft drink.
Second criteria that has been set based on subjectivism,audience will be cheer out loud immediately.When the scene where the “SKATER BOY” have another Fanta soft drink,suddenly I’m feel want to cheer along,but still not as loud as I expected with my criteria has been set earlier.
Another criterion that has been set,is audience will be stunt until the end of animation voluntarily.First,’stunt’ by it means here that people will feels lie to wait.So,these animated advertisement successfully meet the criteria has been set.I feel like you have just to wait until the end of the video,and then you get the message that you want.
Lastly,the criterion that has been set for subjectivism, is audience will be loaded with full curiosity in the end of animation.Cause of the scene where the “SKATER BOY” have another Fanta soft drink,you can see the ad that they want to show us that these soft drink has really great tastes until people cheer up again after feel disappointed.After the animation end,I feel curiuos on what is Fanta taste like.Honestly,I’m can not wait to try it.
GROUP DEBATE I will do an argument academically with other group member that has picked another method is Objectivism,Relativism, and Emotivism.
OBJECTIVISM
I would choose one of the criterion that has been set by my awesome friend,Syauqi.I do agree that he said the ad should be able to attract audience full attention with the flow of anticipation so that they would finish watching the ad until the end.
I feel that this animated ad were really achieved in communicating to the audience.The character appeared appropriately for all audience too.The character all were cuted that suitable for all ages.
RELATIVISM
The one of criterion that has been set by my capability friend,he mention out that audience should be able to remember half of the video after a long time as compared to Coca-cola Siege,another animated advertisement he choosed.
I want questioned about why he set only audience should be able to remember half of the video?Why not he set the audience will remembered all content of the video?
Advertisement is about is a form of communication used to encourage or persuade an audience (viewers, readers or listeners) to continue or take some new action.(source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advertising). Advertisement should successfully achieved the target they want to find. I’m just half agree with his criteria that he set.
EMOTIVISM
Lastly,is friend of mine, Afiffuddin,friendly-awsomeness dude is choose Emotivism.
I do agree all the criteria that he set for this animated ad.Cause of the video achieved the level of criteria he set.Maybe not perfect going,but it is like 90% achieving.Like one of the criteria he set is audience will be able to feel impress with the ultimate natural of visual communications and give a deep impact in their selves forever .I do feel an impress of what this animated ad was trying to communicate and send us a message.It tried to persuade us with tell us how all the chasing character in these video trying so hard to get Fanta soft drink.So it has send us not to straight forward message but with symbiolic way in advertisement.Moreover,the audience for these videos is the public at large so the use of English is encourage although portions must be in the target language.All content shoulb be appropriate for all ages.
I think that should be done with our debate and discussion among our team.I want to conclude that animation is an imaginative medium,though,combined with advertisement but I found it is quite an interesting of kind of new perspective way of critique challenge.As such narrative information has to be delivered with great speed how amazingly,these video has shown to us.
